John Molloy Knitwear is a family
owned business in Ardara, County
Donegal, Ireland.
John Molloy met with me to help select the fine Irish Aran sweaters
sold at
A-Wee-Bit-Of-Ireland.com.
The day I visited Ardara, John Molloy was working
the front of the store and his brother, Ronald was working in the
knitting shop. The other brother, Mickael was at a trade show in New
Jersey
To make these fine sweaters the yarn is worked on the loom.
The front
and back are pieced together.
The next
step is to sew the front and backs together and to add the
arms and collar.
Each sweater
is measured at least three times to make sure
they are the correct size. The final step of the process is to steam
the wrinkles out of the sweater and then send it to
